HATFIELD CRICKET CLUB

Through the years

Although Hatfield Cricket Club takes 1850 as it's date of establishment, it is known that cricket was played in Hatfield Park before this date. The earliest reported game being in September 1789. In the early 1800's Hatfield's Team included Rev Lord Frederick Beauclerk, son of the 5th Duke of St Albans one of the first great amateur cricketers who became President of the MCC in 1826.
